  THE AVENUE   

The Avenue at 155 St Clair Avenue West is a 19-storey building with 73 units designed by Page+Steele architects. The buildings exterior is red brick, stone with a glass façade. Residents enter through a covered circular porte-cochere, where a valet will take your keys, park your car and deliver your bags up to your suit. The lobby, public areas and many of the suites are by Brian Gluckstein Design, whose calm, dark-wood and pale neutral schemes are comfortably and immediately familiar to many Forest Hill residents.

The suites in The Avenue range from 1,500 square feet to well over 4,000 sq. ft, and each suite has its own private elevator access, which opens onto large hallways with wood floors, tall coffered ceilings and high, multi-grooved baseboards. Each unit has multiple balconies and the larger suites have plenty of space for sculpture and art. While the suites are generally quite large and open, some also feature strategically located ancillary rooms that can be converted to a wine cellar, home office, pantry or hobby room. Some of these ancillary spaces back on to one another, so you could knock out the dividing wall and double the space.

If you’d like to hold a party for more guests than your suite can accommodate, there’s the Gluckstein-designed large club room on the main floor, with two fireplaces, a grand piano and a fully equipped caterer’s kitchen, designed in conjunction with celebrity chef Mark McEwan. On the main floor, there is also a shallow pool suitable for taking grandchildren for a swim, adjoined by a gym with personal trainers, extensive exercise machines and a studio for classes.
